What is Hydrocodone ?

Used to relieve moderate to severe pain, this combination medication. It has an opioid (narcotic) pain reliever (hydrocodone) and an acetaminophen (acetaminophen) pain reliever. Hydrocodone works in the brain to change the feeling and response of your body to pain. Acetaminophen is also capable of reducing fever.

Due to an increased risk of serious side effects (such as slow / shallow breathing) this product is not recommended for use in children younger than 6 years.

How to take ?

Take this medication with your doctor’s order by mouth. With or without food, you can take this drug. If you have nausea, taking this medicine with food may help. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about other ways to reduce nausea (such as lying down with as little head movement as possible for 1 to 2 hours).

Use a medication measuring device to carefully measure the prescribed dose if you are using a liquid form of this medication. Do not use a household spoon because you may not receive the correct dose.

The dosage is based on your condition and treatment response. The dose is also based on weight in children. Do not increase your dose, take it more often, or take it longer than prescribed. If so directed, stop the medication properly.

This medication may sometimes cause addiction, although it helps many people. If you have a substance use disorder (such as overuse or drug / alcohol addiction), this risk may be higher. To reduce the risk of addiction, take this medication exactly as prescribed. Ask for more details from your doctor or pharmacist.
